Rahm Emanuel……Just Stop with Race To The Top

“Race to the Top” has not worked.  It is not working.  It will never work.  Obama basically took “No Child Left Behind”, made a few tweaks and alterations, and changed the name.  Nearly a decade after NCLB was passed, “Race to the Top” represents the pathetic inability of America to learn from its mistakes and realize how high-stakes standardized testing, school choice, mass public school closings, charter schools, teacher accountability, and private and philanthropic takeover of school management have done massive damage to our educational system.

And yet Chicago mayor, Rahm Emanuel, stands up in front of the Democratic National Convention and says this

The president worked to put accountability into our children’s schools with Race to the Top, so that every child has an education that measures up to their full potential. He was willing to demand change and embrace reform. The president never changed his views to suit the moment or the audience–and that is also a measure of leadership.

HEY NEWSFLASH TO RAHM EMANUEL AND THE REST OF THE DNC WHO SO CAREFULLY AND METICULOUSLY PLAN OUT THIS EVENT AND APPROVE THE CONTENT AND CHARACTER OF EVERY SPEECH THAT WILL BE GIVEN……YOU’RE NOT GONNA SCORE ANY POINTS BRAGGING ABOUT FAILED POLICIES.  CONTRARY TO WHAT YOU MAY BELIEVE, EVERYTHING OBAMA HAS TOUCHED HAS NOT TURNED TO GOLD AND THAT ESPECIALLY INCLUDES EDUCATION!!!!

  1. I could go on for hours about these idiots who are working so hard to ruin our children by using them as the bait! School – Work! Charter Schools! CCS! STEM and trying to recruit the “best of the best” once again dangling money in front of them and you expect the cream of the crop to surface. Why not see how many will play your game without the ofer of money once again! Problem with them they think money fixes all until you run out of other people’s money to spend!

I write to dialogue. So please, let's engage each other in some dialogue.
